The Medical Secretary is responsible for promptly answering all phone calls and managing doctors' schedules. Additionally, they oversee the secretary desk and respond to inquiries from patients, staff, physicians, and the public.

This position is Full Time Permanent and requires the successful candidate to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.

The Medical Secretary is responsible for:

  • Scheduling patient appointments according to physician availability
  • Booking appointments based on referrals from clinics, hospitals, and external physicians
  • Entering, updating, and maintaining accurate appointment data in the EMR system
  • Confirming, canceling, and rescheduling patient appointments as required
  • Receiving, recording, and relaying telephone and electronic messages for physicians in a timely manner
  • Responding promptly and professionally to communications from physicians
  • Screening and directing physician calls appropriately
  • Explaining physician instructions to patients, including pre-operative care, diagnostic tests, and procedures
  • Preparing, compiling, and transmitting patient records and documentation
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations
  • Providing general administrative support to physicians and clinic staff
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Experience:
